The fire, which broke out around 10:30 AM in the room of the ATO/Inspector at Ashok Vihar Police Station, was quickly contained after response from three fire tenders, the DFS noted. Details about the incident are still awaited.

Earlier, on Tuesday, a fire erupted at the dental wing of BM Gupta Hospital in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The fire was brought under control shortly after it started, with fire tenders rushing to the scene following the report. No casualties were reported.

According to R.K. Yadav, ADO Janakpuri, the fire, which started around 8:00 PM, was contained in about an hour and a half with the help of 11 fire tenders. The blaze originated in the nurses’ hostel on the second floor, which accommodated six nurses, and spread to part of the third floor where medical records were stored. The hospital building includes a ground-floor chemist shop, a first-floor outpatient department and offices, and the upper floors affected by the fire. Around 15-20 patients and 20 staff members present at the time were safely evacuated.
