The heat wave is continuously increasing in Punjab. The average maximum temperature in the state has increased by 1.6 degrees Celsius. This is close to normal, but in many districts the temperature is being recorded 2 to 4 degrees above normal.
The highest heat was recorded in Bathinda, where the mercury reached 43.6 degrees Celsius. But, there is a possibility of relief from tomorrow. According to the Meteorological Center, the heat wave is less visible this month. The reason behind this is the activation of Western Disturbance.
Due to the activation of Western Disturbance at an interval of a few days, the weather of Punjab is changing frequently. While the heat wave intensifies in the month of May, this time there is relief from the heat due to continuous rain and strong winds.
According to the report released by the Meteorological Department, Ludhiana recorded a maximum temperature of 41.6°C, Faridkot 41.5°C and Patiala 41.4°C, while Chandigarh also recorded a temperature of 40.5°C. Hot winds and dry weather have affected public life.
Even today, no alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department. Due to which an increase in temperature can be seen even today. After which the temperature of most of the cities of the state can cross 40°C.
