Chandigarh, May 18: Punjab and Chandigarh are experiencing intense heat. The average maximum temperature of the state has increased by 0.8 degrees in the last 24 hours. It has been recorded 2.7 degrees above normal temperature.
The highest temperature was recorded in Bathinda at 45.2 degrees. The temperature of 12 cities was more than 40 degrees. The weather will remain dry today, there is no alert. But the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in the coming three days from 19 May to 21 May.
This situation will be created due to the activation of western disturbance. Strong winds will blow at a speed of 40-50 km per hour for the next three days. Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued for lightning along with thunder. A temperature of 40.8 degrees has been recorded in Chandigarh.
