Rain alert in Himachal: Heat relief expected, IMD issues warnings

Shimla, May 18: The weather in Himachal Pradesh is going to change from today, Sunday. As per the IMD forecast, Western disturbance is becoming active in the state. Its effect will be seen for the next three days. The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of rain for the next three days.

IMD has issued a yellow alert in 4 districts today. These include Sirmaur, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. On May 19, an alert has been issued in 12 districts of the state. Orange alert has been issued in Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur and yellow alert has been issued in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.

3% less rain than normal

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, so far 3% less rain than normal has been recorded in the month of May. Except Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Sirmaur, Solan, Mandi and Shimla, other districts have recorded less rain than normal.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in most parts of the state on May 19. During this time, the Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert.

Bilaspur-Neri has a temperature of 39 degrees 

The weather is pleasant these days on the high mountains. But in the plains, the heat is making people sweat. The temperature of 9 cities of the state is above 35 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Neri and Bilaspur in Hamirpur has reached 39 degrees and Kangra has reached 38.3 degrees Celsius.

The people of the state are expected to get relief from the heat during the next 3 to 4 days. After the rain, the temperature will decrease by 3-4 degrees Celsius.
