Chandigarh, May 16: To meet the shortage of doctors in government hospitals of Punjab, the government is recruiting medical officers on 1000 posts. Online applications for recruitment to these posts will now be accepted till May 22. Earlier, the last date was May 15.

While the written exam for this recruitment will be held on June 3. According to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, the roll numbers of those appearing in the written exam will not be sent to their home addresses, but will have to be downloaded from the university website. The university has advised people to keep checking the website regularly.

PMS had raised the issue

This issue was raised by the members of Punjab Civil Medical Services Association in front of Health Minister Balbir Singh, the Secretary of the Department and other officials. During this, they argued on many things. After this, this topic was discussed in a high level meeting of officials. Now, orders have been issued. People will benefit from this.

The issue of shortage of doctors in government hospitals of Punjab has also reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court. A PIL has been filed in the court by Bhishma Kinger. He had prominently raised the issue of shortage of doctors in Malerkotla Hospital of Punjab. In this, the government also accepted that there is a shortage in the hospital. At the same time, recruitment for one thousand posts is going on. The next hearing of this case will be on July 17.
