Tightening the noose on those involved in illegal mining, the Sadar Police Station team seized a tipper and registered a case against unknown individuals, initiating an investigation. According to information received from the police, on May 18, Mining Department JE-cum-Inspector Gagandeep Singh informed the police that illegal mining was being carried out by some people in Mannan village.
Acting on this, the police raided the site, during which the JCB operator managed to escape, evading the police, while the tipper (PB-13, BM-3656) driver fled, leaving the vehicle behind.
The police searched the tipper but found no related documents. Subsequently, the police seized the tipper and registered a case against unknown individuals, starting an investigation. Sources revealed that the residents of Mannan village had been troubled for a long time due to the ongoing illegal mining.
It is alleged that someone recorded a video of the machinery involved in the illegal mining and sent it to senior police officials. Following this, the authorities took action, issuing orders for a crackdown, and succeeded in seizing the tipper.
