Shimla, May 23: An orange alert has been issued for hailstorm and storm in Himachal Pradesh today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has issued this warning for the next 48 hours in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. People in these districts have been asked to be cautious.
Orange alert is not normal in this season. Even a week and a half ago, after the orange alert, storm and hailstorm wreaked havoc in the state. In such a situation, the weather department’s forecast has scared the farmers and gardeners.
Yellow alert warning has been issued in 6 other districts of the state. According to the weather department, the weather will remain bad till May 28. During this period, rain, storm, lightning and hailstorm are forecast in most areas.
A drastic fall in temperature during last 24 hours
On the other hand, after the rain and hailstorm in some areas during the last two days, a drop in temperature has been recorded in many cities. The temperature in Una has dropped by the maximum of 5.6 degrees in the last 24 hours and the temperature has become 35.4 degrees.
The temperature of Bilaspur also dropped by 3.0 degrees to 36.0 degrees and the temperature of Solan dropped by 2.0 degrees to 30.0 degrees Celsius.
6 mm of rain in Una
According to the Meteorological Department, during the last 23 hours, 6 mm of rain has fallen in Una, 4 mm in Bilaspur, 3 mm in Pachhat, 3 mm in Salapad Mandi, 2 mm in Palampur, 2 mm in Solan, 2 mm in Sujanpur, 1 mm each in Kasauli and Naina Devi.
