Jalandhar, May 26: In a major breakthrough against terrorist-gangster networks with International links, Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur Police, in a joint operation with Gujarat Police, have arrested Lavish Kumar from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Lavish is a close aide of Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dalla and Jind Mehandipuria, brither of slain Brother of slain Terrorist Teja Mehandipuria.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Lavish was acting under the direct instructions of Arsh Dalla, engaging in extortion, including firing at targets to intimidate victims. Multiple cases of murder, attempted extortion through gunfire, and other serious offences are registered against him.
Lavish had conducted reconnaissance of a liquor contractor and targeted for a ₹50 lakh extortion demand. He remained in constant communication with foreign-based handlers and was preparing to execute a sensational crime in Punjab.
Further investigation is underway to identify additional operatives and trace both backwards and forward linkages.
