Amritsar, May 26: On Monday afternoon, a tragic robbery took place at a shop in Trimurti Complex, Hall Bazar, Amritsar. Two men pretending to exchange old and torn currency notes attacked a father and a son. Kuldeep Kumar, the father, was fatally injured, while his son Dinesh Kumar was seriously injured.

The robbers had called the shop earlier that day, asking for new notes worth 10 to 12 lakh rupees. When they came to the shop around noon, Kuldeep and Dinesh welcomed them in. But instead of exchanging notes, the attackers suddenly struck Kuldeep on the neck with a chisel and grabbed around 12 lakh rupees before fleeing.

Neighbours and shopkeepers said Kuldeep and his son had been helping local businesses with currency exchange for years, and they often collected money from nearby shops. After the attack, the injured men were taken to the hospital, where Kuldeep unfortunately died.

Police are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage from the area. They have promised to catch the attackers soon.
