For the first time in the state, percentile will be the eligibility criterion in the entrance exam for admission in B.Sc Nursing. This time percentile has been adopted instead of percentage. Atal Medical and Research University has also updated the information in the prospectus in this regard.
There is a difference between percentage and percentile, but this time, as per the instructions of the Indian Nursing Council, percentile in the result of the entrance examination will be the basis for admission in B.Sc Nursing. Atal Medical and Research University Nerchowk, has started the application process for 2,529 seats of various courses for the academic session 2025-26. The entrance examination for these courses will be conducted on June 11 (Wednesday) in two parts (morning and evening).
About 1600 seats of B.Sc Nursing will be filled through the entrance examination. These are available in all government and private institutions affiliated to the university. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission in the entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing course is 50 percentile for the general category, 45 percentile for general Divyang category, 40 percentile for SC, ST and OBC.
Dr. Praveen Kumar Sharma, Controller of Examinations, Atal Medical and Research University, said that this time percentile has been adopted in the entrance exam for B.Sc Nursing. The minimum eligibility has also been prepared as per the instructions of the Indian Nursing Council.
The entire application and counselling process will be done through online mode. Bonafide Himachali and caste certificates issued offline will not be accepted during counselling. Candidates will have to bring certificates issued online by the state government. Apart from this, admit cards will be online only. Admit cards will not be sent by post.
