A major update has come out in the Majitha blast case in Amritsar. According to the information received, the identity of the man who died in the blast has been revealed. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Kumar, a resident of Vikas Nagar near Chheharta police station in Amritsar.
25-year-old Nitin Kumar used to drive an auto for his family. The deceased’s mother said that she has no information about how he reached the blast site.
The deceased’s mother also added that Nitin used to take an auto every morning, but today he left home without an auto at 7 am. Both her sons used to drive autos, one of whom, Nitin, died in the blast yesterday.
Nitin’s father said that the deceased was a drug addict. He used to go to the government drug de-addiction center every day to get medicine. He had left home like every day but he did not return. The family has also denied allegations that Nitin was associated with or working with any terrorist organization. The family also said that he was sniffing envelopes when the explosion occurred.
Police investigation revealed that Nitin’s hands and legs were blown off in the blast while he was carrying the bomb. After the blast, a fire also broke out at the spot. According to police sources, this blast was carried out by the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa and the deceased was associated with this organization.
Punjab Police Border Range DIG Satinder Singh, who reached the spot after the blast, also admitted that this was a terrorist incident. The person who died had come to pick up a consignment of weapons. During this time, he was blown to pieces due to the blast.
