Wife beaten to death with stick in Shimla, accused husband arrested

Deepa was found dead inside her tent on the spot. Her death was confirmed after a police investigation.

A case of the wife being beaten to death has come to light in Kotkhai area of the ​​Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The investigation has been started by registering a murder case against a person of Nepali origin. In a complaint to the police, Hari Krishna Dantha son of late Shiv Ram Dantha resident of village Badhon, Rawlakyar told that he was present at his home on June 1 at around 3:35 pm, when one of his Nepali labourers Ramesh Dangi informed him that Deepa wife Jeet Bahadur, who worked at Ram Dhani’s camp in Bagari, was lying unconscious in her camp and there were marks of injuries on her body.

He also said that Deepa’s husband, Jeet Bahadur, was also present at the spot. After this, Dantha immediately contacted Ram Dhani (landlord) on mobile. He said that he was out of the house, but he was also reaching the spot.

After this, Dantha informed the Kotkhai police station about the incident over the phone. The police team reached the spot at 6:00 pm on Sunday, where Ram Dhani was also present. Deepa was found dead inside her tent on the spot. Her death was confirmed after a police investigation.

Several injury marks were found on her body. During preliminary interrogation, the deceased woman’s husband, Jeet Bahadur, admitted that on May 31, he and his wife Deepa had a fight. During this, he got angry and killed her by beating her with a wooden stick. On the basis of facts and the statement of the accused, a case has been registered against the accused in Kotkhai police station under section 103 (1) of the Indian Penal Code, and he has been arrested. Additional SP Ratan Singh Negi said that the police is investigating every aspect of the case.
