Chennai (Tamil Nadu): The creators of the upcoming film ‘Kuberaa,’ starring Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nagarjuna, have decided to delay the pre-release event originally scheduled for today. This decision was made to show solidarity with the families affected by the recent tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The makers posted on their social media, expressing their condolences and stating that the event was postponed out of respect for the grieving families.

Earlier, they also extended their sympathies to those impacted by the accident through their social media channels. The movie’s audio, including its third single ‘Pippi Pippi,’ was recently launched at a ceremony in Mumbai with the cast and crew present.

Following the news of the crash, many celebrities from the Indian film industry shared their condolences on social media. Actor Salman Khan expressed deep grief and sent prayers for the victims and their families. Likewise, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan also issued messages of support and sympathy for those affected.

The crash involved an Air India flight AI-171 heading to London’s Gatwick, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad International Airport on Thursday. Only one person survived from the 242 onboard—an individual of British nationality with Indian roots. The aircraft was operated by experienced pilots, including Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who had 8,200 flying hours, and First Officer Clive Kunnar with 1,100 hours. After leaving the runway at 13:39 IST, the plane made a distress signal but did not respond further. It crashed outside the airport perimeter, producing heavy smoke, and the incident resulted in significant loss of life, including 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian.
