When a JCB was being used to dig the foundations of a plot near the Bathinda Road Bypass of Sri Muktsar Sahib, the claw of the JCB suddenly collided with a private gas pipeline. This caused gas to leak from the pipeline under high pressure, creating an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding area.
After receiving information about the gas leakage, the employees of the gas company reached the spot after about half an hour, who with difficulty controlled the leakage. This incident could have turned into a major accident, but fortunately there was no loss of life or major property damage.
Gas leak caused by the impact of the JCB
This incident took place near the Bathinda Road Bypass of Sri Muktsar Sahib this evening, where the owner of Kumar Hardware Shop was using the JCB machine to dig the foundations of his plot. Meanwhile, the claw of the JCB came into contact with the pipeline of a private gas company passing under the plot, due to which the line leaked and gas started leaking. Due to the strong smell of gas and the sudden chaos, people moved away. The employees of the private company reached the spot within about half an hour and controlled the leakage with great difficulty.
The company dug the gas line under the plot without informing them: Plot owner
In this regard, the plot owner said that they were digging the foundations as per the rules and they were not aware that the gas line also passes under their plot. He claimed that the gas company had laid this pipeline under the plot without any information. He said that God saved him from a major accident.
Meanwhile, when an attempt was made to talk to the employees of the gas company, they said that first let’s fix the leakage, then we will talk.
