Amritsar, June 19: CIA Staff-2 of Amritsar District Police has busted an illegal arms Racket. Police have arrested two accused and recovered two pistols and seven live cartridges from them. Both the accused are wanted in many cases and were planning to commit a new crime.
The main accused is from Bihar
According to the information, the main accused, Bittu alias Bhaiya, is a resident of Bihar. He currently lives on rent in Faizpura, Majitha Road area of Amritsar. He already has four cases of snatching and Arms Act registered against him. He was also on the police’s wanted list.
Police arrived on secret information
The second accused is Sukesh Kumar alias Pandit. Both the accused were arrested from Ranjit Avenue area. The police arrested the accused by acting on a tip-off. The police also recovered a Splendor motorcycle from them.
Case Under Arms Act
In an action taken on the instructions of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, a team led by Sub Inspector Ravi Kumar arrested both the accused on the basis of reliable information. Investigation revealed that Bittu used to bring illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and commit crimes in the Sadar and Cantonment police station areas. Police have registered a case against both the accused under the Arms Act and have started further investigation.
