Jalandhar, June 23: There was a terrible collision between two vehicles near Shri Guru Nanak Mission Chowk in Jalandhar, Punjab, in which one vehicle overturned on the road and the other was badly damaged. This accident happened late night around 11:30 pm near Guru Nanak Mission Chowk. According to the information, a speeding Scorpio hit another car from the side while trying to overtake. After the collision, the Scorpio became uncontrollable and overturned three times. There were 3 to 4 youths in the Scorpio.
Locals said that the Scorpio was moving at a very high speed and the driver lost control while overtaking. There was no loss of life in the incident. It is a matter of good fortune that there was no other vehicle on the road at the time of the accident; otherwise, this incident could have been even more horrific.
Both the damaged vehicles remained at the scene till morning
According to the information received, after the accident at around 11:30 pm, the said vehicles were lying as they were at the scene till 10 am. The vehicles were not even taken into custody by the police party. Local people say that the main reason for such accidents is speeding and careless driving. They have demanded that the police take appropriate action by examining the CCTV footage, so that such accidents can be prevented in future.
