Himachal High Court will hear the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the service extension case of Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena today. The state government has to deposit a penalty of Rs 5 lakh with the Himachal High Court Bar Association today. The court had imposed this penalty on the government in the last hearing.
In fact, the court made a strict comment in the last hearing and said, the government is playing hide and seek so that people do not get justice. Sometimes on the pretext of converting RERA headquarters to Dharamshala, sometimes saying that the appointment case is pending, RERA Chairman-Member is not being appointed. The court had ordered their appointment by June 25. RERA Chairman-Member has been appointed last evening on the orders of the court.
The division bench of Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and Justice Ranjan Sharma will also hear the application for interim relief filed by the Chief Secretary today. The interim relief sought by Prabodh Saxena will be considered today.
Let us tell you that the petitioner Atul Sharma has filed a PIL demanding the cancellation of the order of 28 March 2025 giving 6 months extension to Prabodh Saxena as Chief Secretary. According to the facts presented before the court by the petitioner, on 21 October 2019, Special Judge Anti-Corruption Act Rouse Avenue Court, New Delhi has taken cognizance of the CBI chargesheet filed against Prabodh Saxena.
