Haldwani: A car carrying seven people skidded off the road and fell into an overflowing canal during heavy rains, resulting in at least four fatalities. The victims include a four-day-old infant, two women, and a man. Three others were injured and are receiving medical care. Rescue teams quickly responded, successfully pulling the vehicle out from beneath the canal culvert and rescuing those injured.
Landslide Incident on Yamunotri Trek Route
Earlier, on Monday, two pilgrims lost their lives after a landslide struck the trek route near the 9 Kainchi Bhairav Mandir on the way to Yamunotri. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the debris. One pilgrim from Maharashtra was rescued with injuries and hospitalized. The landslide occurred approximately 20 meters above the trek path.
Injured Pilgrim’s Condition
Rasik from Mumbai, an injured pilgrim, was taken to a primary health center in Jankichatti, where he received stitches and first aid for his injuries.
