Rainfall is continuing in all the states of the country including MP, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Himachal has suffered the most damage in the last 24 hours. A day ago, the Kullu district witnessed severe devastation due to multiple cloudbursts. As of Thursday afternoon, the death toll has risen to 9 after four more bodies were recovered near the NHPC project site at Jeeva Nala in Sainj Valley — the worst-hit location.
Cloud burst across multiple locations in Himachal Pradesh
A series of cloudbursts struck five locations across Kullu, including Shilagarh (Garhsa), Stro Gallery (Manali), Horangarh (Banjar), and Khaniyara in Dharamshala. Authorities fear that 15 to 20 individuals may have been swept away in flash floods, although official confirmation is awaited. Rescue operations are ongoing amid challenging conditions.
Heavy rainfall reported across Gujarat
On the other hand, heavy rains are falling in Ahmedabad, Surat and Navsari districts of Gujarat. Flood-like situation has arisen in Ahmedabad. Many areas including Maninagar, Vatva, CityM, Hatkeshwar, Nikol Odhav and Virat Nagar in the eastern region are flooded.
Alert Issued in 15 districts
There is an alert of heavy rain in 15 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Rain caused darkness in Indore. Water entered the houses in Jabalpur-Vidisha. A young man died by drowning while taking a selfie on the dam in Alwar, Rajasthan. Heavy rain occurred in 6 districts including Jaipur, Sikar-Nagaur.
