Ludhiana, June 28: Aam Aadmi Party candidate Sanjeev Arora defeated Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu by 10,637 votes in the by-election held in Ludhiana, Punjab on June 19. Sanjeev Arora took oath as MLA today in the presence of CM Bhagwant Mann at the Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawa administered the oath to Arora. While taking the oath, Sanjeev Arora said- I Sanjeev Arora, who has been elected as a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, sincerely pledge that I will bear true faith and loyalty to the Constitution of India established by law.
I, Sanjeev Arora, will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India. I will faithfully discharge the duties assigned to me.
Let us tell you that a day before the oath ceremony, Sanjeev Arora, along with his family, had gone to Delhi to meet AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. He has also shared a picture with his family on Twitter in this regard.
