Air-conditioned electric buses have now started from Ambala to Zirakpur and Panchkula. Earlier, these buses were run for a trial. Daily commuters will get a lot of benefit from this.
Apart from this, about 15 days ago, two electric buses were run for trial for the Dosarka and Saha Industrial area. But due to a smaller number of passengers at the Saha Industrial area, one electric bus was removed and put on the Dosarka route.
10 buses are being operated
At present, there are 10 electric buses in Ambala. Out of which 4 electric buses are being operated on a trial basis. The first bus operates from Ambala City Bus Stand at 7 am and the second bus at 7.30 am for Zirakpur-Panchkula. After this, the bus is leaving for Panchkula and Zirakpur with passengers from Ambala Cantonment Bus Stand at 7.30 am and 8 am.
Two electric buses are operating from Ambala City Bus Stand to Dosarka. They are reaching the Dosarka stand via Ambala Cantonment, Saha, Mullana. Both these buses are making 4 rounds in the morning and 4 rounds in the evening.
