Councillors of the MLA group of Aam Aadmi Party, troubled by the garbage problem in Jagraon of Ludhiana district, will sit on a dharna in the Nagar Council today. The dharna will be held at the main gate of the Nagar Council at 12 noon. Recently, 4 councillors, along with three-four people, had submitted a demand letter to EO Sukhdev Singh Randhawa for solving the garbage problem.
Will not allow garbage to be dumped in their ward
They had given 4 days. The EO called a meeting of the councillors, but no woman councillor reached the meeting. This has angered the people of the city. Ward number 6 councillor Jarnail Singh Lohat has already made it clear that he will not allow garbage to be dumped in his ward. There is already a pile of garbage in his ward, a complaint of which has been made to the NGT.
BJP leader targets the government
BJP leader Dr. Rajinder Sharma has targeted the Punjab government. He said that what could be a bigger proof of the government’s failure than the fact that the councillors of the MLA group are staging a dharna against their own government. He said that collecting garbage is a very small job for the Punjab government
