The story from Majithia’s arrest till now
25 June:
Vigilance registered a case of ₹540 crore drug-related disproportionate assets case. Raids were conducted at 26 places. Majithia was arrested from his house in Amritsar. 29 mobiles, 5 laptops, diaries and documents were recovered.
26 June:
Majithia was produced in Mohali court. There was heavy security, media was kept away. Vigilance sought 12-day remand, court approved 7 days.
27 June:
Former DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay stated that a case was registered against Majithia under NDPS in 2021, and this case is related to that.
28 June:
Former ED Deputy Director Niranjan Singh said that in the investigation of the drug money case in 2013, many accused had named Majithia.
June 29:
Former MLA Bonny Ajnala and Majithia’s former PA Dalbir Gill gave statements. Ajnala accused Majithia of having links with drug smugglers.
