An alert has been issued once again regarding rain in Punjab today. A yellow alert has been issued in 11 districts regarding rain today. After June, the monsoon is kind in July as well, and more than normal clouds are expected throughout the month. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature continues to fall after the rains in the past few days. The maximum temperature has also seen a decrease of 1 degree.
Maximum Temperature remains normal
According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), the maximum temperature in the state remains normal. At the same time, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.6 degrees in Bathinda on the previous day. Apart from this, the maximum temperature in Amritsar was 33.7 degrees, 35.4 degrees in Ludhiana and Patiala, 34.5 degrees in Faridkot and 34.7 degrees in Jalandhar. At the same time, light rain was also recorded in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and Mohali from Thursday morning to afternoon.
198 percent more rain recorded
At the same time, the monsoon in the state remains kind in July as well. In the last 3 days, 198 percent more rain than normal has been recorded in the state. Normally, there is a possibility of 15 mm of rain in these three days, whereas till July 3, 44.7 mm of rain has been recorded.
Yellow alert for rain in 11 districts
A yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in 11 districts of Punjab today. According to which, there is a possibility of moderate rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala today. There is a possibility of rain in Punjab for the next 6 days.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that light to moderate rain will occur in most parts of Punjab on July 6 and 7. While similar rainfall may continue at many places on July 8 and 9 as well. The department has warned of heavy rain in the northern and eastern parts of Punjab, in which 7 cm or more rain may occur. At the same time, very heavy rain i.e. 12 cm or more has been predicted in some areas.
