Jalandhar, July: A pickup truck loaded with tiles overturned on the Phillaur highway in Jalandhar, Punjab. Three people died in the accident and three people were seriously injured. This accident happened near Shehnai Resort in Phillaur at around 8.15 am today. At the time of the incident, 6 people were in the pickup truck.
After the accident, two people died on the spot and one died in the hospital during treatment. The Punjab Police Road Safety Force (SSF) was the first to reach the spot. After which the police of Phillaur police station reached the spot for investigation.
SSF employee said- 6 people were in truck, 3 died
According to the Road Safety Force (SSF), this accident happened today (Tuesday) at around 8:15 am. The pickup truck was loaded with marble and tiles and there were a total of 6 people on the roof and cabin. When the pickup truck reached near Shehnai Resort, it got unbalanced. Due to high speed, the pickup lost control and overturned on the highway. Due to which the labourers sitting on the roof fell on the highway and the marble and tiles lying in the pickup fell on them.
People sitting in the cabin were also injured
It is said that the tiles were heavy, due to which other people sitting in the cabin also got seriously injured. According to the SSF, 2 people died on the spot, while 3 people were taken to the hospital in an injured condition by the Road Safety Force in its vehicle.
The sixth companion was taken to the hospital through 108 ambulance, who died during treatment after some time. The identity of all the deceased has not been established yet. Police of Phillaur police station is investigating the case.
The driver said- the vehicle went out of control on the breaker
The driver of the pickup truck said- When the vehicle reached near Phillaur, suddenly the vehicle jumped (speed breaker) and went out of control. There were a total of 6 people in the pickup. Tiles and marble were lying in the pickup. Other people have also suffered serious injuries in the incident.
