Himachal Pradesh: A 25-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting his 65-year-old grandmother in Rohru, located in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district, police announced on Wednesday.
The incident was disclosed when the victim, who has been living alone since the death of her husband, filed a complaint stating that her grandson visited her home on July 3 afternoon and sexually assaulted her. He also allegedly threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.
A case has been registered under sections 64(2) (rape), 332(B) (criminal intimidation), and 351(3) ( trespass and criminal intimidation) of the relevant law, and the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, police officials said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Pranav Chauhan emphasized that the case is highly sensitive and is being investigated with thoroughness.
