New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed in northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad area following a disagreement over a ₹2,000 loan, police reported on Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 12:10 am when the suspect, Adil, attacked Fardeen after he demanded the return of the borrowed money.
According to police officials, the police received information about a stabbing at Jafrabad, and when they reached Jafrabad Community Hospital, they found that Fardeen had been brought in by his father and was declared dead by doctors.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Fardeen and his friend Javed were standing near a lane when they encountered Adil, who had previously borrowed ₹2,000 from them. When Fardeen asked for the money back, Adil reportedly became enraged, pulled out a knife, and attacked both men before fleeing the scene.
Police added that Adil’s brother Kamil and their father Shakeel were also present, and they allegedly instigated him to carry out the assault.
Forensic teams examined the crime scene and collected evidence. A case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are actively working to locate the suspect and recover the weapon used in the attack.
Raids are underway across multiple locations, and teams have been assigned to apprehend Adil and his accomplices, with further investigation ongoing, officials said.
