Jalandhar, July 12: Jalandhar rural police took a major action under the campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh” and vacated the double-storey house built by drug smuggler Surinder Singh alias Shinda by occupying panchayat land in village Burj Hasan and handed it over to the panchayat and BDPO office. Jalandhar rural police SSP Harvinder Singh Virk said, This was done by the team of police station Bilga under the supervision of ASP Parminder Singh Heer and DSP Sarwan Singh Bal.
The police team led by police station in-charge Inspector Palwinder Singh got the house built on 30 marla panchayat land in village Burj Hasan vacated. Drug smuggler Surinder Singh alias Shinda was using this land as a den for selling drugs for a long time. In the presence of Naib Tehsildar Noormahal, the possession of the land was handed over to the Panchayat and BDPO.
DSP said- 6 FIRs are registered against the accused
DSP Sarwan Singh Bal said that Surinder Singh alias Shinda already has 3 cases of drug smuggling and 3 cases of assault registered against him. He was continuously involved in drug business. This strict action was taken against him under the Punjab government’s “War against Drugs” campaign. He said that this campaign will continue in future as well and drug dealers will not be spared at any cost.
