Fatehgarh Sahib: Panchayat’s resolution against unidentified migrants, ordered to leave the village within week

Under this, farmers have also been asked to keep the Aadhaar card details of the migrants living on motorbikes.

Another village in Punjab has passed a resolution against migrants. This time, the case has come to light from Lakhanpur Garcha Patti in Fatehgarh Sahib.

According to information received from sources, the Panchayat of Lakhanpur Garcha Patti, led by Sarpanch Barinder Singh Binda, has passed a resolution to evict migrants from the village. He has ordered the migrants without identification should leave the village. Let us tell you that the village Panchayat has given the migrants a week’s time.

It is worth mentioning that the Panchayat has passed a resolution to evict the migrants from the village’s water supply because these migrants do drugs there and harass the people of the village (women and children). Under this, farmers have also been asked to keep the Aadhaar card details of the migrants living on motorbikes.

The Panchayat of village Lakhanpur, Garchan Patti under Khamanon in Fatehgarh Sahib district has passed a resolution to ask the migrant families living illegally in the village to leave the village. The village panchayat has given the migrant families one week to leave the village.

The panchayat has appealed to the administration that there is a fear of criminal incidents like robberies and drug abuse in the village. The panchayat alleged that these migrants, sitting on the roads, roam around the streets of the village, smoke cigarettes and bidis, illegally harass the women and children of the village who come for a walk, and also get addicted to the marijuana etc. that is grown in Punjab.

The villagers said that although the migrants come to Punjab from time to time to work for paddy planting and wheat harvesting, but they have permanently settled in camps. Which also raises questions marks on the law and order situation. Villagers said that if these families have any kind of Aadhaar card or identity card, then it is definitely valid.

But due to a lack of any identity, they can commit any incident and escape from here, whose activities cannot be known. The village sarpanch said that if any village landlord wants to keep these migrants on his motorbikes, then he can permanently take their identity cards and keep them under his responsibility.
