Lucknow, July 12: In view of the increasing crowd of Kanwar pilgrims going towards Haridwar and Rishikesh (Neelkanth Dham) in Sawan, Lucknow division has taken a special initiative. Railways has started operating Kanwar Mela Special train between Alamnagar and Yoganagari Rishikesh. This train will run daily from 12 July to 10 August with the aim of controlling the crowd of passengers and providing them smooth travel facility.
A special train will run daily from Alamnagar to Rishikesh
Train number 04317 Alamnagar-Yognagari Rishikesh special train will depart from Alamnagar station every day at 12:05 pm from July 12 to August 10. This train will reach Rishikesh at 11:00 pm. For the convenience of passengers, this train will stop at many major stations, so that Kanwar pilgrims coming from other cities and towns can also take advantage of it.
Rishikesh-Alamnagar special will run till August 9 in the return direction
Train number 04318 Yoganagari Rishikesh–Alamnagar Special train is already operational. This train departs from Rishikesh at 7:00 pm and reaches Alamnagar at 10:45 am the next day. This service will continue till August 9. Trains in both directions will run daily.

According to Northern Railway, this special train will stop at Raiwala Junction, Motichur, Haridwar, Jwalapur, Laksar, Balawali, Muazzampur Narayan Junction, Najibabad Junction, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur stations during the journey. This will also provide great relief to regional passengers.
Senior DCM Kuldeep Tiwari said that this train service will prove to be very useful for Kanwar pilgrims during the Sawan fair. He appealed to the passengers to confirm the timetable before the journey and reach the station on time in view of the heavy crowd.
