Shimla, July 13: A Scorpio car fell into the Shalvi river in Shimla, Haryana. In which 2 people from Punjab died, while 2 people were injured. A 10-year-old child was swept away in the river. Police teams reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The child is being searched by conducting a rescue operation.
The accident happened near Jamradi area of Nerwa. All the people were going to attend a satsang. The police have taken the bodies in their custody and kept them in the mortuary of the government hospital of Nerwa.
There were 5 people in the car
According to the police, a Scorpio car (PB-32G 8768) fell into the Salvi river between Tandori and Bathal in Nerwa on Saturday evening. There were a total of 5 people in the car. People living nearby informed the police about this. After this, police teams reached the spot. People were taken out of the car.
The injured told that the child had been swept away
In the accident, a person named Gurmel Lal and Kumar Suchi, both residents of Nawanshahr, had died. Whereas, Balwinder Kaur and Keshav Kumar were found seriously injured. When people started taking them out of the car, they told that Balwinder’s 10-year-old son had been swept away in the river.
People were going to a satsang in Kupvi
They searched for the child in the nearby river, but due to darkness and high water flow, they could not find any trace of him. The injured people were immediately taken to Nerwa Hospital. The police sent the bodies of the deceased to the mortuary. All the people were going to attend a satsang in Dhar Chandna of Kupvi.
DSP said – Chaupal’s DSP Sushant Sharma who is searching for the child said that as soon as the information about the accident was received, police and administration teams reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started. 4 people have been rescued and sent to Nerwa Hospital, out of which 2 have died and the condition of 2 is said to be critical. There is also a woman among the injured. Police and rescue teams are engaged in searching for the child who was swept away in the river.
