The bodies of a young woman and a young man have been recovered from the railway line near Nagra railway crossing in Jalandhar, Punjab. Neither have been identified yet. In the preliminary investigation, the case seems to be of suicide. It is believed that after being hit by the train, they fell at some distance away from the railway line. The police took possession of the bodies of both late at night and sent them to the Civil Hospital Jalandhar for postmortem. An investigation is going on.

Duty offender ASI Taranjit Singh from Jalandhar’s police station GRP said that two bodies have been recovered near Nagra railway crossing. Both are between 25 and 27 years of age. Both have marks of injury on their bodies. The matter was reported to the police control room at around 12 o’clock at night. After which, he immediately reached the spot with his team.
ASI Taranjit Singh further said that the body was lying some distance away from the railway crossing. Initial investigation has revealed that the body was hit by train number 19226 (Jammu Tawi). No suspicious thing has been recovered from the spot so far.
At the same time, an investigation is going on to determine whether it was an accident or suicide. To identify both of them, photos have been circulated in the surrounding areas. On the basis of which efforts are being made to identify them. At present, the bodies of both will be kept in the Civil Hospital Jalandhar for 72 hours, so that they can be identified.
