Mumbai, July 15: On the second trading day of the week today, i.e. Tuesday, July 15, the Sensex closed at 82,571, up 317 points. Nifty also rose by 113 points, closing at 25,195.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 stocks rose. Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and BEL stocks rose by about 2%. Whereas 35 out of 50 Nifty stocks closed higher. All sectors on NSE also rose. Auto sector rose the most by 1.5%. Realty, government banking and IT index rose by about 1%.
Mixed business in global market
In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.55% to close at 39,678 and Korea’s Kospi rose 0.41% to close at 3,215.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index rose 1.60% to 24,590 and China’s Shanghai Composite closed 0.42% down at 3,505.
On July 14, America’s Dow Jones closed 0.20% higher at 44,460. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite closed 0.27% higher at 20,640 and the S&P 500 closed 0.14% lower at 6,269.
Foreign investors sold shares worth Rs 1,614 crore on July 14
On July 14, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,614.32 crore in the cash segment. At the same time, domestic investors (DIIs) made net purchases of Rs 1,787.68 crore.
So far in the month of July, foreign investors have sold shares worth Rs 11,898.50 crore. Meanwhile, domestic investors have made net purchases worth Rs 14,190.66 crore during this period.
In the month of June, net purchases by foreign investors stood at Rs 7,488.98 crore. At the same time, domestic investors also made net purchases worth Rs 72,673.91 crore in the month.
Bombay Stock Exchange gets bomb threat
There has been a threat to blow up the Bombay Stock Exchange. According to media reports, the threat was given through an email. In which it was claimed that explosives IED and RDX have been planted inside the BSE building, which will blast at 3 pm. However, the police and bomb disposal squad that reached the spot did not find anything.
Yesterday, the Sensex had fallen by around 250 points
On the first trading day of the week, Monday, July 14, the Sensex fell 247 points to close at 82,253. Nifty also fell 68 points and closed at 25,082.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 are down. Shares of Infosys, Asian Paints and Tech Mahindra closed down by 2%. Shares of Eternal, Titan and Mahindra rose marginally.
Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 27 closed down, 22 up and 1 unchanged. NSE’s IT index fell the most by 1.11%. Media, pharma, banking, realty, healthcare and FMCG stocks closed higher.
