Mumbai, July 15: Hindustani Bhau alias Vikas Phatak had filed a complaint against Farah Khan accusing her of hurting Hindu sentiments. His petition was heard in the Bombay High Court on Tuesday, where the court severely reprimanded Hindustani Bhau. The court said that he has filed the case only to get into the headlines and for publicity. The court said that he has more than 200 cases, why were such issues brought to the court.
In the Bombay High Court, a bench of Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Gautam Ankhad heard Hindustani Bhau’s petition, in which he had complained that Farah had hurt Hindu religious sentiments by calling Holi a festival of Chhapris. Justice Ravindra Ghuge told Hindustani Bhau-
“Why are you so hurt? Stop being so sensitive. We have more than 200 cases to be heard and you are bringing such issues to the court, why? For publicity, to bring your name in the headlines. Why should such issues be brought to the court. He said ‘Chapri’, but you are not ‘Chapri’, you are a gentleman, so why did you feel hurt.”
Further in the hearing, Hindustani Bhau’s lawyer Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh said that after the complaint, the channel which aired the show has removed that line from it.
On this, Justice Ravindra Ghuge said-
“This means they have removed it. People have forgotten it now, so why do you want to pursue it. Why didn’t you go and complain yourself, why did you send the complaint through a lawyer first.”
During the hearing, the bench also asked Hindustani Bhau’s lawyer to tell his client to watch National Geography, Travel and Living channels. He will be happy watching such channels. After the court’s rebuke, Hindustani Bhau has withdrawn the petition.
What is the whole matter?
Actually, this whole controversy started from an episode of the show ‘Celebrity Master Chef’. Farah was the judge of this show. In one episode of the show, she commented on Holi. She said that Holi is the favorite festival of all Chapri boys. This video of Farah went viral on social media, after which she was heavily criticized. Due to this comment, Hindustani Bhau filed a complaint against Farah in Khar Police Station.
