Himachal: SPU to fill PG and B.Ed seats in colleges through online counseling

On confirmation of the seat, the letter will be issued to the candidate online.

The path to admission in postgraduate classes in the colleges coming under Sardar Patel University (SPU) will be easy. Candidates will not have to visit the colleges again and again for counseling. For the first time, online counseling will be done simultaneously for seats in all the colleges. In this, along with merit, the roster will be taken care of. Candidates will be able to see their status in counseling from home. On confirmation of the seat, the letter will be issued to the candidate online.

If seats remain vacant in the college after three phases of online counseling, then the college management will be able to fill the seat at its own level as per the instructions of the university administration. Sardar Patel University is going to adopt the same pattern for filling B.Ed seats as well.

If seats remain vacant after three phases of B.Ed counseling, then the university administration will fill the seats at its own level. Candidates will be able to apply for counseling of B.Ed along with postgraduate degree till July 28.

Probably the first list will be released by July 31. Colleges affiliated to Sardar Patel University will not fill PG seats on their own this time. Sardar Patel University has handed over the responsibility of entrance examination and counselling to an institute in Mohali.

This institute will fill the seats in all colleges through online counselling. Seats will be filled during counselling for about 25 different categories of PG subjects in other colleges including the university campus. Online counselling will also be done for about 1600 B.Ed seats. B.Ed college operators will be able to fill seats at their level only under the management quota.

For the first time, the SPU administration is going to adopt the online counselling process to fill the seats of PG courses in all colleges. Candidates will not have to visit the university or the concerned college again and again for counselling.
