Two youths of Rewari lost their lives in the Mahendragarh district. While bathing near pump house number two of Jawaharlal Nehru canal, both the youths were swept away in the strong current. On receiving information about the accident, the police reached the spot and, with the help of the villagers, the bodies were taken out of the canal. After the post-mortem, both bodies were handed over to the family members today.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Praveen Kumar, resident of village Dhani Shobha in Rewari, and 19-year-old Aryan, resident of village Manethi in Rewari. According to the information, on Sunday, Aryan, Praveen, Ashish, and Himanshu, a resident of village Surjanwas, had come to bathe in the canal with a friend of theirs. When Ashish and Himanshu went to a nearby shop to buy food items, Praveen and Aryan got down to bathe in the canal.
Due to the strong flow of water, the first youth started drowning. In an attempt to save him, the other youth also came but later he too drowned. When the companions who returned after a while did not find both of them there, they started searching. Clothes were found lying on the bank of the canal, which led to the suspicion of an accident.
After this, information was immediately given on Dial 112. A search operation was launched with the help of police and villagers. After some time, the bodies of both were recovered from the canal near the pump house of village Dewas.
