New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena regarding the continuation of civil defence volunteers as Bus Marshals in Delhi Transport Corporation in the city buses. The letter was written as Delhi LG has given nod to appoint home guards as Bus marshals in place of civil defence volunteers.

CM Kejriwal urged in his letter that Civil defence volunteers should be continued as Bus marshals till adequate number of home guards are appointed in their place. He highlighted that sudden removal of bus marshals will neither be good for them nor for the safety of women travelers.

CM proposed in his letter that existing civil defence volunteers should be appointed as home guards and continue them as Bus marshals. He wrote, “Since the existing civil defence volunteers, who are working as bus marshals, have experience of working as bus marshals, we should develop a plan to appoint them only as home guards and continue them as bus marshals unless there is any specific complaint against any individual….”
