Fathima Beevi, India’s first female Supreme Court judge dies at 96

New Delhi: Justice Fathima Beevi, Nation’s first female judge of Supreme court of India passed away at the age of 96 here on Thursday.

Not just in India, Fathima Beevi was also the first Muslim woman in Higher Judiciary and the first woman to become a Supreme Court Justice in an Asian country.

After retiring from the post of Supreme Court Judge, She also served as the governor of Tamil Nadu in year 1997.

By embarking on a career in male male-dominated profession, she inspired women across the country and served as a role model for all of them.
