Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of Home guard Jaspal Singh. Home guard Jaspal Singh died in the clash with Nihang Sikhs in the morning today. CM in a post on X, said “Home guard Jaspal Singh of Punjab Police died during the incident.

CM in a post on X, said “Home guard Jaspal Singh of Punjab Police died during the incident at Sultanpur Lodhi… Heartfelt sympathies with the family in this sad time… The police jawan performed his duty… The government will give Rs 1 crore to the family as financial assistance. …The remaining Rs 1 crore will be given by HDFC under insurance”.

CM also mentioned that the remaining Rs 1 crore will be given by HDFC under insurance which will raise the total financial assistance to Rs 2 crore.

CM also said that the Punjab Government is committed to providing all kinds of help to the family in the future. He also added, “Heartfelt salute to the bravery shown by Jaspal Singh.”
