  Majithia has alleged that no charge sheet has been filed yet in the case in which he is released from jail.

Punjab Police have summoned four people from Majithia in drug smuggling case. In the case of drug smuggling worth crores of rupees in Punjab, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the police has summoned four persons close to Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia for questioning.

 People summoned  also include the names of those who were Majithia’s former PA and OSD. SIT has issued notice to Major Shivcharan Singh Shivi, Kartar Singh, Talbir Singh Gill and Budh Ram. All four have been called to give their statement on 2 February. Earlier, SIT had interrogated Majithia.

Records related to the case were also summoned from Majithia. A new SIT has been formed by the police in the case. Now the responsibility of SIT has been given to Patiala Range DIG HS Bhullar. The government had reconstituted the SIT after the retirement of ADGP Mukhwinder Singh Chhina.

Apart from DIG Bhullar, Patiala SSP Varun Sharma and Dhuri SP Yogesh Sharma and some other officers were included in the SIT.

Earlier, Majithia was called on January 15, SIT asked him questions for seven hours. However, Majithia is out on bail in this case. This case was registered on 20 December 2021. The police had registered this case against Majithia two years ago on December 20, 2021, but his arrest was postponed by the court for two months. After being in jail for 5 months, Majithia got bail on 10 August 2022.
