Jalandhar Commissionerate Police in a major breakthrough arrested eight miscreants of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police recovered 3 pistols, 10 cartridges and vehicles from the arrested gangsters. All the arrested accused were involved in threats, extortion and other criminal activities.
Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma said that on January 27, owner of Karma Fashion Studio showroom had received an extortion call demanding Rs 50 lakh. The accused had also sent cartridges for ransom along with a letter thrown in their premises.

Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma told that the criminals belonging to Lawrence gang used to carry out their work in a very vicious manner. First they used to collect information about industrialists and businessmen in a planned manner. After that, threatening letters were sent to those who had money. They even used to make phone calls.
He said that the 8 gangsters who have been caught by the police have been identified as Sanjay Bawa, son of Hari Mittal, resident of Mohalla Karar Khan, Jalandhar, Deepak Kumar alias Deepak, son of Mahendra Pal, resident of Ratan Nagar, Gulab Devi Road, Jalandhar, Gajinder Rajpur alias Gajju, son of Sham Bihari. , Radhey son of Som Pal, Pappu son of Som Pal, Manoj son of Jagdish, Deepak son of Phool Chand all resident of New Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar Jalandhar, Abhishek Gill son of Raj Kumar resident of Gurdev Nagar, Jalandhar.

Joint Commissioner said that all the miscreants have been arrested from Dhobi Ghat (TV Station), Jalandhar. One pistol 30 bore, 5 cartridges, one pistol 32 bore 5 cartridges, one country made pistol 315 bore, 4 magazines, 1 Splendor motorcycle and 2 scooters (Activa) have been recovered from them.
The Joint Commissioner said that during the investigation it was revealed that the activities of these gangsters extended across national boundaries, which were linked to Suraj, currently living in England.
