Big Success to Batala Police, Bust Gang demanding ransom; has connection with gangster Harry Chatha

 SSP Ashwini Gotiyal said that Batala police has arrested two accused who were demanding ransom and spreading terror by firing bullets

Batala: In a major breakthrough Batala Police arrested two accused in the case of firing bullets outside a restaurant in Batala and demanding ransom from the owner. The arrested accused are said to be related to gangster Harry Chattha, who often calls big businessmen and demands ransom from them. A case has been registered in this regard at Civil Lines police station and further investigation has been started.

 SSP Ashwini Gotiyal said that Batala police has arrested two accused who were demanding ransom and spreading terror by firing bullets in the city and surrounding areas and recovered a huge quantity of bullets from them.

The accused had recently opened fire outside a restaurant and later demanded ransom from the owner. In this regard, a case was registered in the Civil Lines police station and investigation was started. Jagjit Singh alias Jaggi, son of Ajaib Singh, resident of Kila Lal Singh and Varinder Singh alias Sunny, son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Kila Lal Singh were named in the case.

In this regard, a team of CIA staff Batala and Civil Line Police was formed, who arrested both the accused. SSP Batala said that both of them admitted during interrogation that they had relations with Supreet Singh alias Harry Chattha. They used to demand ransom on his instructions. Harry Chatha also used to send them weapons. SSP said that the accused will be presented in the court and their remand will be obtained for further interrogation.
