Punjab Govt committed for all-round development of State: Minister Balkar Singh

He instructed the officers to personally monitor the ongoing development works including construction of sewerage, water supply, streets and drains in the villages

Punjab Local Government Minister Balkar Singh has said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working on a development oriented agenda on priority basis to ensure all-round development of the state.

Taking stock of the progress of the ongoing development works in the villages of Kartarpur constituency today, he asked the officials to ensure personal monitoring of the development works so that they can be completed within the stipulated time.

While presiding over the meeting with the officials of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department here, the cabinet minister said that the Punjab Government is carrying out development work on a large scale to provide facilities to the people of the villages as per the modern times.

He instructed the officers to personally monitor the ongoing development works including construction of sewerage, water supply, streets and drains in the villages and said that the quality of the development works should be kept in mind. The Cabinet Minister said that there should be no compromise on the standards and quality of development works.

During this, he instructed the officials to regularly review the development projects and said that this will help in accelerating the pace of development works.

He said that for the convenience of the people, the officers should also perform their duties with full devotion to take the government’s welfare schemes to the grassroots level so that more and more people can get the benefits.
