Avalanche in Jammu and Kashmir, alert in Himachal too

Chandigarh Northern winds have increased the cold in the states of North and Central India. Although the weather is clear, but people are feeling cold due to the cold wind. It has rained in some areas of Chhattisgarh. Cold wind is being felt during the day and night in Madhya Pradesh, day and night temperatures have dropped by 2-3 degrees in many cities. The days are hot in Punjab-Haryana, but the temperature goes down during nights.

On Thursday (February 8), an avalanche occurred in Sarbal area of Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir. It was a matter of regret that neither anyone was injured nor anyone died in this avalanche. Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority has issued avalanche warning in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

There has been light snowfall in some areas in Himachal, which may continue even today. The danger of avalanche has started increasing continuously in sensitive hilly areas. The administration has issued an alert of avalanche due to heavy snowfall in Jalodi Pass, both ends of Atal Tunnel Rohtang, Dhundhi, Solanganala and Palchan along with Lahaul Valley.
