Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau arrests CA and Gazette officer for taking bribe  

In this case, investigation is being done by collecting all necessary evidence

Panipat: Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana late evening arrested two accused from Panipat district on charges of taking bribe. One of the accused, Pankaj Khurana, a chartered accountant, was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh, while Rs 3.5 lakh was recovered from the car of Prem Raj Rana, Superintendent (Gazetted Officer), working in GST office, Panipat. ACB has arrested both the accused and is investigating the case.

Giving information about this, the government spokesperson said that the team of Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau had received information that a superintendent and a chartered accountant (private) working in the GST office were demanding a bribe of Rs 12 lakh in return for reducing the GST penalty.

 Based on the complaint received, the facts were investigated and the accused Praveen Khurana, Chartered Accountant, was arrested red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh while Rs 3 lakh was recovered from the vehicle of Superintendent Premraj Rana. In this case, investigation is being done by collecting all necessary evidence

In this case, a case has been registered against the accused in the Anti Corruption Bureau police station of Karnal. While appealing to the general public, the spokesman of the Bureau said that if any officer or employee demands bribe in return for doing any government work then they should immediately inform about it on Haryana Anti Corruption Bureau’s toll free numbers – 1800-180-2022 and 1064.
