Poonam Pandey, husband face Rs 100 crore defamation suit for faking death

Earlier this month, Pandey’s team had announced that she had died due to cervical cancer. The following day, on February 3, Poonam Pandey appeared in a video on her social media handles, saying that she was alive and pulled up the stunt to spread awareness about cervical cancer.   

Chandigarh Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay have been slapped with a Rs 100 crore defamation case filed by Faizan Ansari for their fake death stunt. Ansari, who lodged an FIR with the Kanpur Police Commissioner, claimed that both husband and wife had trivialised the seriousness of cancer by conspiring to fake Pandey’s death.

He has also requested that they both be arrested and brought before the Kanpur court.
