The struggle of the farmers who came out for ‘Delhi Chalo’ march for MSP and other demands continues for the sixth day (till Sunday). The security forces have stopped the agitating farmers at the Punjab-Haryana border. There is a continuous conflict between the two here.
Meanwhile, to pacify the agitating farmers, today i.e. on Sunday (February 18), the fourth round of talks will be held between the Union Ministers and the representatives of the farmer organizations. No result could be achieved in the first three rounds of meetings.
Meeting at 6PM Public Administration Institute
Union Minister Arjun Munda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai will once again hold a meeting with farmers today . This fourth round meeting will be held at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration of Punjab Government, Chandigarh from 6 pm onwards.
Union Minister Arjun Munda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai will talk to the farmers on behalf of the Central Government, while on behalf of the farmers in this meeting, Sarwan Singh Pandher, General Secretary of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Sidhupur). Apart from K Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Jagjit Singh, many other farmer leaders will be present.
So far three rounds of talks have taken place between farmer leaders and the central government, but all three meetings have been inconclusive. Although during this time the Central Government has agreed to accept some demands of the farmers, but the talks are stuck on some demands. Earlier, the third round of talks was held in Chandigarh on 15 February. Apart from the three Union Ministers Arjun Munda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann was also present in it.
