Chandigarh: Chandigarh Municipal Corporation underwent a major reshuffle on Sunday. BJP’s Manoj Sonkar, who became mayor in the municipal elections, resigned last night. There were allegations of rigging in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections held on January 30. Manoj Sonkar’s resignation has come just before the Supreme Court’s hearing in this case on Monday.

On the other hand, Sonkar has also filed a caveat in the Supreme Court so that his side is also heard. Meanwhile,3 councillors of Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh namely,  Poonam Devi, Neha Musawat, Gurcharan Kala have joined the BJP.

For Gurcharan Kaala its homecoming. Chandigarh BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde along with former state president Arun Sood welcomed the three councilors to the BJP. On this occasion, Vinod Tawde said that the three councilors will get full respect in BJP and will be given important responsibility.

Arun Sood said that the BJP has an absolute majority and the Mayor will remain of the BJP and the BJP’s caravan will continue to grow due to the policies of the Chandigarh BJP. Poonam Devi said that Prime Minister Modi is the messiah of the poor and Dalits and he has done a lot of development work for every section of the society.
