New Delhi : The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi was recorded at 12.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Till last week the minimum temperature remained around seven-eight degrees Celsius. Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast for Wednesday said that the maximum temperature is likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius.
The weather department said that ‘the sky will be generally cloudy and there will be light rain or drizzle.’ The air quality in many areas of the city at 9 am was in ‘poor’ and ‘moderate’ category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the PM 2.5 level at 9 am in Anand Vihar area was at 310 in the ‘very poor’ category and that of PM10 at 240 in the ‘poor’ category.
Air quality index (AQI) between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’; ‘satisfactory’ between 51 and 100; ‘medium’ between 101 and 200; ‘poor’ between 201 and 300; ‘Very bad’ between 301 and 400; And between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’. The PM2.5 level was recorded at 172 and the PM10 level at 151 at Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The PM2.5 level in Dwarka Sector-8 stood at 186.
