PM Modi unveils the statue of Sant Ravidas in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a statue of Sant Ravidas in Varanasi and paid floral tributes to him on the occasion of his 647th birth anniversary

Varanasi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a statue of Sant Ravidas in Varanasi and paid floral tributes to him on the occasion of his 647th birth anniversary. The Prime Minister said on the occasion that Sant Ravidas belongs to everyone and everyone belonged to him.

“Sant Ravidas rose above caste and worked for the unity of the society. My government is carrying forward his ideology and our mantra is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas’. Our policy is for all regardless of caste and creed. Our aim is to bring the weakest and the poor into the mainstream of society,” he said.

The Prime Minister further said that his government’s schemes like free toilets, free rations, free medicines. concern ‘Har Ghar Nal’, free gas cylinders are designed for the benefit of the poor, especially women, without considering their caste and community .

Sant Ravidas wanted to free the society from division. Earlier, the Prime Minister performed a ‘pooja’ and had ‘darshan’ at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali. He was accompanied by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. PM Modi is the first prime minister visited Sant Guru Ravidas Janamasthali Temple three times. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation for the Sant Ravidas Museum and beautification of the park which is worth around 62 million rupees. The museum has five temples, main galleries and provides digital information about the birth of Sant Ravidas through images and films and about the spiritual life.
